Mamut at Pratique des Arts
This is a very good way to start the new year! Mamut Pastels has been featured in one of the most important Art Magazines in France;“Practique des Arts”.
I was contacted by a representative of Practique des Arts a few months ago regarding the possibility of having an independent product review on Mamut Pastels. The review would be performed by the french artist and painter Joel Simon.
Since 2004, Joel Simon has collaborated with various specialized magazines in the art world, such as Plaisirs de Peindre, Pratique des Arts, etc. as part of equipment tests and painting demonstrations.
I felt truly honored that this prestigious French magazine had noticed Mamut pastels, and I was awaiting with great interest the independent opinion of its expert. For this test I decided to send the Baby Mamut set #9 “Basic Set” and some samples of Big Mamut.
An independent product review has many benefits but also some risks. It establishes credibility, it contributes with a fresh point of view on the product, making more people aware of the brand, and builds trust. The final balance is quite good, and it covered all the near future plans and ideas I had in mind on how to improve the brand. The only thing I regret is not having been able to send in time some of my brighter colors, produced at the end of the season, such as the new vivid greens, and my strong reds.
“I really liked these pastels. They are of very good quality, quite on par with the most well-known brands. They are generous in application and very well pigmented. Their shape makes them more suitable for spontaneous approach rather than detailed strokes, unless they are cut. Fans of large formats will particularly appreciate the big format.” Joel Simon
