Spring

Canola 5.jpg

I love spring!
And I love trees!! I have always loved them... Each day I have the chance to look and admire this big one on my way to picking up my son... Yesterday had a special light, colour and all the flowers where blooming since the last week or so... Just spectacular and amazing! Spring is here, no doubt. I just had to stop the car and make some pictures to inmortalize the enormous cork tree surrounded by a yellow cloak!!

All aroud, thousands of canola and rapeseed oil yellow flowers paint an idilic paysage… They belong to the cabbage of mustard family. Rapeseed oil has historically fulfilled a useful rol as a “break crop” in farm rotation, to improve soil quality for cereal crops…They adorn this part of the spanish countryside and it is a pleasure to take long walks near those unreal yellow fields!

Rapeseed flowers from April, and depending on the rains and temperatures, the flower can last up to three weeks, in which the bees will collect all the nectar and pollen they can...Hundreds of them can be found pollinating in the fields.
